  • Get your mobile phone bills under control

Opera Mini’s compression technology reduces the amount of data sent to your phone by up to 90 percent, resulting in lower costs on pay-per-MB data plans or when roaming.

  1. Still no flash i suppose..
not so important to me but a lot of people would like that on opera instead of using the crappy skyfire..
when was the 1th beta release? (to lazy for a little research ^^)
let’s be proud cause wa all were beta-testers lol

  2. holy… this update is so smooth, when browsing on my 5530 then it feels as smooth as on iphone lol :D , tho flash would be fun :P

  3. Is it just me or does this version feel alittle less responsive?
Theres more of a delay when I open up the menus or adress bar.

  4. to Skiba:

It’s not just you. In order for a JAVA prgram to work ok, it needs to be optimized as hell. Only a few programs are really good at that.

    to Bart:
Flash cannot and will not be implemented in Opera Mini because it’s made in JAVA language , which does NOT support streaming APIs.

    to myself:

Great user interface! Crappy performance and still a lot of bugs to be solved.

For example, if you will syncronize your bookmarks and speed-dials, you won’t be able to enter any new URL in the URL field cause it’s locked! Already filled in a bug to Opera Mini support team.

  5. hey “wikipedia” search is gone in this new update..only google search is there..today i updated from 10.448 to final version…..wikipedia is gone…..wat a tragedy p:’( luv p

  6. To preetha:
Wikipedia is NOT gone! The great feature in Opera is that you can customize and make your own shortcuts to different search engine.

E.g. Go to en.wikipedia.org. Then (if you have a touchscreen device) press and hold your finger in the search tab. Then you will get the option “add search engine”

I hope this will solve your problem :)

  7. New opera mobiile 10 hangs a lot on my 5530.Weird beta 2 was better

  8. We need flash support on symbian!

  9. To tippz:
Symbian has flash… tho not the Opera browser

  10. this just rocks :D even fb chat works :) and everything is ultra fast :D writting from it right now :D

  11. Really impressive, installed Mobile and Mini, both work great, and it’s the first time Mobile has worked without ‘freezing’ my N97 :)

  12. @ arsradu
i don’t realy mind that there won’t be flash on opera mobile..
i use my phone if i want to check something quickly on the internet..
if i want (and others should to) a “full flash experience”, i just take my laptop or pc..
    Thx for the reply anyway

    and lol “to myself” xD

  13. Bart, I was talking about Opera Mini, not Opera Mobile! :) ) Opera Mobile is written in C++ (Symbian) and it can support Flash (although Opera Mobile still doesn’t). But Opera Mini is written in JAVA and, because of that, Flash cannot be implemented.

I agree with you on the “full flash exeprience” but since mobile phones are not just “phones” anymore…I expected a little more from Opera Mobile. Still, Opera Mini has that really annoying bug.

  14. to @amaaizs i tried that one already..and i’m having a touch device(5800)..earlier version of opera this option was there……not in this new version..:’( sorry p

  15. To preetha: Ok, this was weird. I downloaded the newest Opera Mobile, and i can add all the searchengines i want.

  16. can u tell how u did tht?adding search engine?tried version 10.498 and 10.499 not working :’( sorry p

  17. c in opera 5 mini option is ther in extreme right end to manage search engines and wikipedia is there…but same option is not in opera10,,kshamikuu p..

  18. Samfisher says:

Anyone notice that Facebook no longer opens it’s main website on Opera Mini? This is not related to the versions of Opera Mini, since I had the same version all along, and FB FULL page used to load fine.

Now, clicking on the “View Full Site” button leads back to FB Mobile..which is not what I want =( Opera changed their servers to not accept requests to load FULL FB =(

Other than that, it works fine though, both Mini and Mobile. Just a few UI changes, no performance issues so far.

  19. to preetha: i did just like i said in the first post. Put your finger in the field were you write, and then press and hold for a litte bit. Then you will get the options:”add search engine and mark text”.

  20. it is soo smooth it is funy when i connect with my 5800 like as iphone it is very good….thkxs a lot
