This means you do not need an additional battery cover to be able to use the 1700. The 1700 battery charges in the same manner as the original Arc battery. You can use this not only as a replacement battery in totality but also you could use it as an additional spare battery that can be taken with you while travelling. You could keep a spare battery in the office or at home. It would come in useful for those unexpected occasions when you are out longer than you had intended and your battery starts to suffer from anxiety. A quick swap of the battery and you are good to go on the road again.
