Windows Phone Marketplace Surpasses 100,000 Apps

Windows Phone Marketplace reaches 100.000 mobile application submission milestone, with new ones being added at a rate of 313 apps per day.

According to All About Windows Phone blog, at this moment there are 100,145 apps published to the Windows Phone Marketplace. It took Windows Phone 14 months to reach 50,000 apps, and only another 5 months to double that figure to 100,000. Just for comparison, App Store took 16 months, while Google’s Play Store took 24 months to reach 100,000 milestones.

Of the 100,145 items published to the Marketplace, 10,357 are no longer available (withdrawn by Microsoft or unpublished by the developer), a further 1,492 items are in staging (awaiting an update, in beta or not live for some other reason). That means there are 88,371 apps currently available for download (live) on the Windows Phone Marketplace.
