On 13th June, Nokia finally launched 808 Pure View in India. This phone had created stir in India after its camera specifications were released earlier this year.
Every person knows why this phone is special. It’s because of 41 MP’s camera. Yes you read it correct. It’s not 4.1 MP, but 41 MP. Nokia has launched 808 in India, which has always been a faithful consumer market for Nokia, at price of Rs. 33,000. For this special phone with such a unique feature, Rs. 33,000 is reasonable.
Many are predicting with this, Nokia is all set to enter the Guinness Book! In this article, I’ll not cover all the features; rather I’ll cover most of its unique features.
Apart from this 41 MP feature, Nokia 808 has many other features. It has AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) capacitive touch screen with 16M colours. It’s resolution is 360x640 pixels, which has been a standard resolution for most of the Nokia touch screen phones be it 5230, 5800, 500, etc. It has multi touch support and this phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection with Nokia clear black display technology.
I won’t go in much depth with this technology but I’ll say that this technology enables a user for viewing the screen of their phone from any angle without any problem and if you don’t know about Gorilla glass then I’m sure you’d be thinking what is use or advantage of such a glass? Well, Gorilla glass is a thin glass with extremely high damage and scratch resistance feature. If you have time then go to youtube.com and type gorilla glass in search box for better understanding.
Coming to next noticeable feature, it has 3.5 mm jack, which comes with any other ordinary phone these days, but the feature that doesn’t come along with those ordinary phones is Dolby digital plus support and Dolby headphone enhancement. These additional utilities will give you an awesome experience for music.
Dolby headphone enhancement is also been released under Belle Feature Pack (FP1) recently. I upgraded my phone to FP1 and trust me there is a whole new experience even with a normal Nokia headphone.
Pure View comes with an internal storage of 16 GB with a microSD card support with extension of up to 32 GB. It also has1 GB ROM and 512 MB RAM that will take care and make sure that you can use many apps at one time without any problem.
It has Bluetooth v3.0 which ensures a very high transfer rate of 24 Mbits/s under 0 interference conditions. Talking about USB support this phone has microUSB v2.0 with USB - on – the – go support which enables this phone to act as a host. This phone works on Symbian Belle OS and it has 1.3 GHz CPU. It also has a 1400 mAh battery that makes sure your phone runs long, really long.
Now talking about its camera, the real reason for which people are crazy for this phone. Do I need to say how much MP camera it has? No I don’t need to say that because everybody on planet knows it. 41! I’m still shocked that, how can a smartphone have such a high quality camera but the reality remains that it has.
Well, to be accurate, 38 MP out of 41 is effective. Ok having a 38 MP camera on a phone is also a big thing so there’s really no disappointment with Nokia if they say that you won’t get full 41 MP! This ground breaking image technology gives you ticket for having huge resolution pictures of about 7152 x 5368 pixels. This has been possible because of Carl Zeiss optics with auto focus feature. Carl Zeiss optics, better known as Tessar, is a famous photographic lens design.
A phone with a high tech camera but no flash is like a bald man with many combs. Ok I agree that was a bad comparison but flash is nothing less than a right hand for a camera of any phone. In 808, you get Xenon flash. Xenon flash is way better than normal LED flash that comes with most of the camera phones these days.
Other from these features, 808 has ND filter i.e. Neutral Density filter. As per Wikipedia, in photography and optics, a neutral density filter or ND filter is a filter that reduces and/or modifies intensity of all wavelengths or colors of light equally, giving no changes in hue of color rendition. Below is image showing effect of ND filter:

With a 41 MP camera, it is needless to say that it provides HD recording. This master phone records video with resolution of 1080p@30fps. It even has a secondary VGA camera that can record videos at resolution of that of normal VGA pixels @30fps.
I might have missed few of other important specifications of this piece of brilliance but all in all, I’d like to end by saying that if I had Rs. 33,000 to buy a phone, I’d have surely bought this phone without even slightest hesitation.

Most important thing about me is, my silence. Sometimes my silence is taken as my arrogance or attitude but it’s just that, if you are not close enough to me, you don’t have access to the real me because I hate to share my inner world with people who are not close to me! :D I have many friends but I consider only few as my close ones because in past I’ve seen who are real and who appear to be real :) I’m protective about those whom I care, sometimes overprotective but can’t help :P My mood can swing from best to worst within fraction of seconds ;) I love peace and mostly I’m gently in my talks but if provoked, I can loose break hell on you :x You can trust me on one thing, even if I hate you, you’ll never come to know it :D If you succeed in getting close to me, you’ll be taken care of for rest of the life but if you hurt me after getting close to me, then don’t even think of talking to me ever again ;) Best thing I like in myself is, although I don’t talk much with others, still I manage to remain happy most of the time, don’t know how :D Writing has always been my passion. I write, not only for my entertainment, but for people :)
