It what seems to be a simple reshuffling of cards at Jolla former COO, Marc Dillon, will take over as CEO at Jolla while current CEO Jussi Hurmola will now focus on "Sailfish strategy" (moving to the Jolla Board).
This news came to light in tweet from Jolla's official Twitter account.
Marc Dillon's background includes Principle Engineer for MeeGo,Maemo, OSSO, S40 Core integrator, and Symbian Build Manager. So this will be a new challenge for him but not one that seems above the scope of his skills.
According to a Jolla spokesman:
"Regular rotation is a part of our company culture that keeps us agile and our way of working well matched to the most important tasks at hand."
In this case, Jolla's priority is focusing on product delivery. "This is a good move as the product delivery is our #1 focus, Marc has been in charge of the engineering and product development right from the start and the move will now maximise the delivery efficiency. At the same time, it's elementary that we also look beyond the first launch and Jussi's new role i.e. focusing on further developing the Sailfish strategy and the whole ecosystem will be very important for Jolla."
I wouldn't read too much into this move by Jolla I actually believe Jolla when they say this is not a big deal and them just shuffling the pieces to better accomplish the task at hand.
