According to the latest rumors, Sony is going to release new water resistant Android smartphone, the Xperia ZR.
The Xperia ZR (model number C550X) will feature a 4.6-inch (1280x720) display, a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor (it's still not known if it will be a 600 series chipset), 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card, 13-megapixel main camera with Exmor RS and 2,300 mAh battery. What is interesting is that the ZR will be a water proof with an IP55/IP58 rating (up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes), which is higher than the latest flagship, the Xperia Z.
Design-wise, it will look like the Xperia ZL with a glass body, it is expected to be a little bit thicker than 10mm and to weigh around 140 grams.
