Sprint announces $30 Android tablet, the ZTE Optik 2

Anyone in the market for a new Android tablet has a new wallet-friendly option courtesy of Sprint. The carrier today announced that it is selling the ZTE Optik 2 for just $30 if someone is willing to sign a two-year agreement with the carrier. Before you rush out to throw your money at your local Sprint retailer, pay closer to attention to these details about the device.

The ZTE Optik 2 has the following specs:

  • 7-inch tablet with WSVGA (1024x600)
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200)
  • 1GB of RAM, 8GB of memory, 32GB micro SD
  • 4,000mAh battery
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • Sprint 3G connectivity

Still want this blast from the past? Sprint is offering the ZTE Optik 2 only on its 3G network. Monthly service plans include 2GB of data for $15, 3GB for $34.99, 6GB for $499.99, or 12GB for $79.99.
