Budget Blu Windows Phone to Challenge the Lumia 520

For the longest time if you were looking for a quality budget Windows Phone 8 device you only had one place to go, the Nokia Lumia 520.  That is starting to change now that Microsoft is no longer charging to place the OS on devices.  The latest company to pick up on the OS is the American company BLU.  They have two new Windows Phone devices coming and both are very affordable even off contract.

The more expensive of the two is the Blu Dash 5.0 for $199 contract free..specs on this device are as follows:

  • 5-inch display
  • resolution of 480 x 854
  • 1.3 GHz dual-core processor
  • 512MB of RAM
  • With an 8mp or 5mp rear camera

The more affordable device is the Blu Dash 4.0 it's only $99 contract free...specs on this device are as follows:

  • 480 x 800 display
  • 4 GB of storage
  • 5 MP rear camera
  • dual-core 1.3 GHz CPU
  • 1500 mAh battery

While they don't say, I'd have to assume that both these devices have expandable Micro Sd card slots for extra storage.  Hopefully these two devices are a sign of things to come for the Windows Phone OS.  Sales are starting to lag and it could use a boost here stateside.
