For years and years smartphone users of all ages have been playing Nintendo emulators on their devices and wondering why Nintendo isn't putting out official games themselves. Nintendo for their part has been going all in on their own handle-held gaming systems and has refused to make mobile games for fear of cannibalizing it's own mobile gaming market share. Now it looks like Nintendo has finally saw the light and will start making mobile games.
According to a statement from Nintendo:
"The alliance is intended to complement Nintendo's dedicated video game systems business and extend Nintendo's reach into the vast market of smart device users worldwide,"
Nintendo is working with DeNA, a mobile game developer in Tokyo, to create new games and a membership service. It is thought that these games will be out for Android and iOS devices at some point in Q3 or Q4 of this year.
