Xiaomi Tabbing LG for OLED Screens

LG is one of those tech giants (like Samsung and Sony) that can make plenty of money from hardware in the smartphone market without releasing any smartphones. For Samsung is its processors, and for Sony it is image sensors, while LG’s go to component is screens. The TV giant knows a thing or two about panels and has apparently piqued the interest of Xiaomi, which is likely to opt for LG displays on its future handsets.

The Chinese company is reportedly ready to ditch LCD screens in favor of OLED panels, and LG is the company that Xiaomi is in negotiations with to supply the components. LG enjoys a solid market share of the panel market, but even so, this is a major coup for the company as Xiaomi is a rising brand that sells millions of smartphones each year.
