If you are rocking the HTC One M8 on U.S. carrier Sprint, then you can now get Android 6.0 Marshmallow for your handset. HTC confirmed on Friday that it is now rolling out the al-important update for its 2014 flagship, with the OTA release already out and about.
The news was dropped by Mo Versi, HTC’s VP of Product Management. As is usually the case, the update is being sent out in waves, so it could be the case that your One M8 has yet to receive the Marshmallow notifications while your buddies handset has. Regardless, wait it out and the prompt will land eventually. Incidentally, the update also includes the HTC One M8 Harmon Kardon edition.
HTC is saying you will need 50% of battery and a wi-fi connection to pull in the latest major build of Google’s mobile platform. Android 6.0 Marshmallow arrives with Doze Mode, app permissions, Google Now on Tap, and several of HTC’s own enhancements to the company’s proprietary apps and services.
