Invitations for "the next chapter" of Windows Phone was sent out with date of January 21st 2015.  The invite says nothing about that this was the mobile version of Windows 10 however it was widely assumed since the Microsoft has already had a presser on the desktop version of this OS.   Later it was confirmed by Tom Warren, Senior editor at the Verge.
