How Big Should a Smart Phone Be?

Smart phones have a come a long way since I started covering them professionally back in 2009 they have a ton of new features, GPS, 41mp cameras, fingerprint sensors, heart-rate monitors, etc...  They have also in increased in size perhaps a little too much even.   When the HTC Titan came out it was well...HUGE at the time.  I remember opening the box to it's massive 4.7 inch screen.  That's right massive!  People made fun of me...

Turns out Nokia is NOT Making Smartphones Next Year

At the end of last week I happily reported that Nokia would start making smartphones again....As it turns out the report was false.  Nokia stated over the weekend that they wouldn't be making devices anymore. In fact they want everyone to know that they have no plans to build new smartphones  so much that they released the below statement today: Statements Nokia reaffirms it currently has no plans to manufacture or sell consumer...

It seems they may do just that. On the official...

For a limited time, Finnish device maker Jolla has let me demo their first device ever, and she's a beauty!  The Jolla phone is the first smartphone to run the brand new, swipe based Sailfish operating system. With it's minimalist design and it's swappable "other half," I can tell you that the few days Jolla has let me borrow this device will seem too short to me.  Lets go over the specs: Weight: 141g 4.5 inch display 540 x 960 pixels...

Jolla first Sailfish device will go on sale 27 November 2013

It's been a long time coming but in less than two weeks Jolla will release it's first phone to the public. This device has been in the works since Nokia decided to use Windows Phone (not MeeGo) as its smartphone phone operating system. When they did so, a handful of Nokia's MeeGo guys started their own company to continue their work. Now on the 27th, Finnish carrier DNA will set up a "pop-up shop" and sell the first batch of Jolla...
