Sony Ericsson has filed a patent application for “orientation based multiple mode mechanically vibrated touchscreen display. Probably the company will use this development for its PSP phone. According to the patent application, this will be a handset with a full touchscreen display, accelerometer (or other orientation sensor), no physical buttons, and a screen feedback set-up to be reconfigured through software between PSP and phone functionality. The display is somewhat divided into several areas, including a “display inside a display”, a numeric keypad, gaming elements and so on. The device is convenient to use as a media player or a camera with the screen content rotating automatically depending on the device orientation.

The Bamboo phone will most definitely please Greenpeace members. Its casing is made of bio-plastic made of recyclable natural resources like corn and Bamboo. However, the real strength of this phone is that if you decide you don’t want it anymore, you can bury it in compost so that seeds are released and grow into new plants. You just have to remove the batteries and seeds stored within it are released and begin to sprout new shoots. These new seedlings will eventually become bamboo trees. The Bamboo also comes with an energy-efficient monochrome display, and a hand-crack to re-charge the device

The BBC channel has shared a video clip with an unknown Android-based mobile device. This is an early proto released by a Google partner, says the source. The device is controlled via a touchscreen display mainly in addition to several hardware buttons. However the model doesn’t seem to involve multi-touch gestures. Being powered by a low-power 300 MHz processor, the smartphone though runs applications without delays. We’ve got no info whether a real product would be built on this proto. Remember that the pioneer Android models are expected by the end of this year.
