Those people who questioned Nokia's decision to go Windows Phone instead of Android should be a little less vocal about it after seeing the latest numbers. It seems that Nokia has managed to gain a whopping 80% of Windows Phone Market Share Worldwide. With their flagship Nokia Lumia 920 leading the pack at 18% Nokia also has managed to have 8 of the top 10 Windows Phones Worldwide.

Some interesting news coming in from the Microsoft quarters, is Mr. Frank Shaw's (VP -Corporate Communications) announcement regarding Windows Phone sales. The announcement states that WP has overtaken iOS in as much as 7 markets around the world and BlackBerry in an astounding 26 markets.

Good news for everyone who doesn't have the Windows Phone 7.8 update yet the roll out has resumed again. This roll out had stopped last month because of issues with the live tiles. The live tiles would hang while looking for information and be stuck in loop indefinitely. This not only was draining users batteries quickly but also killed peoples data plan.

There were rumors that Microsoft has halted the roll out of Windows Phone 7.8 temporarily till they get some issues with the live tiles fixed that causes massive data usage and battery drainage. Above you see the top for selling devices on Expansys USA this week. Note anything in common with these devices? They are all Windows Phone yes, they are all imports and they are all "low end" devices here in the states. This makes me wonder why Microsoft is not launching these smartphone in all markets. Is Windows Phone missing a huge opportunity by not leveraging these devices at this price point?
